:-: Alice at The Franklin Afternoon Tea :-:
I wanted my first official afternoon tea in London to be super cute, and an Alice in Wonderland themed teatime just screamed, “Drink Me!”
The Franklin is a beautiful hotel located in London’s Knightsbridge area. Its Alice at the Franklin Afternoon Tea was inspired by the Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser exhibition that was at the Victoria & Albert museum in 2021. We visited the V&A Museum in 2022, so we missed the exhibition, but the afternoon tea was still going strong.
The Franklin is just a quick 5-minute walk from the museum. Reservations for this specially themed tea can be made directly on the the hotel’s website, here.
The price seems to go up about £5 each year. The current price at the time of this post is £55 per person for the afternoon tea, or £70 per person if you add a glass of champagne.
I included a screenshot of the menu below in case you’re curious.
I surprised myself by not upgrading to the champagne afternoon tea, but we went to London during the ridiculously crazy heatwave (more to come on that in future posts), so having a glass of champagne mid-day and then walking around in the scorching heat was not on my list of fun things to do while traveling. With 2 kids. Did I mention it was HOT?
But seriously, though, we were having afternoon tea. In LONDON. It wasn’t hot enough to not enjoy the experience. The service was great. Everything was absolutely adorable and very tasty.
Have you experienced a themed afternoon tea?

The character Alice from the original Alice in Wonderland book was based on a real-life girl named Alice Liddell.
Thanks for stopping by.
See you next teatime,
