:-: Tea Room Review: Ladurée LA The Grove :-:
The first time I saw a Ladurée, M and I were walking down the Champs-Élysées in Paris. I had always wanted to go to France and my goal was to see and try as many things as possible. We were looking for a place to have lunch and I remember stopping in front of Ladurée and looking at their menu. M asked if I wanted to eat there, and I said no.
I said no to Ladurée. What the merde was I thinking?
Some days I wish I could just press rewind.
Before we went to Paris, I googled some restaurants, and our friends gave us a lot of suggestions for must-try places, but no one said anything spectacular about Ladurée and their oh-so-delicious-melt-in-your-mouth-sweet-sweet-macarons. I'm not blaming anyone, especially since my focus at that time was eating as much foie gras and champagne as my stomach could handle - and lots of chocolate croissants - but oh well.
Just another excuse to visit Paris again.
And in the meantime, there's still macarons available right here in the U.S.

The history of Ladurée dates all the way back to1862, when a man named Louis Ernest Ladurée opened up a bakery on 16 rue Royale in Paris, France. You can read the full history here if you're interested.
